The Eagles have interest in potentially trading for Miami Dolphins receiver DeVante Parker, who could be on the move after the Dolphins acquired Tyreek Hill in a blockbuster trade on Wednesday.

The report of the Eagles interest comes from NFL Reporter Barry Jackson, who says several teams are in on Parker.

Parker, 6-foot-3, 219 pounds, has been a player the Eagles have been linked to for years. He has 338 catches for 4,727 yards and 24 touchdowns in 93 games, averaging 14.0 yards-per-catch.

The seven-year veteran has had a rollercoaster of a career, topping out with 1,202 yards with nine touchdowns in 2019, the one year of his career he has played a full season. Outside of 2019, his career has been solid, but inconsistent. Staying healthy has been an issue for Parker. He played all 16 games in 2019, but has decreased each year since, playing 14 games in 2020 and just 10 last season.

Parker has a pretty team-friendly deal for any team that would acquire him, as he has a base salary of just $5.6 million in 2022, and is under contract in 2023 as well with a $5.7 million base salary.

The Eagles being in on Parker is not surprising. They nearly had a deal done with the Atlanta Falcons for Calvin Ridley, were very interested in Christian Kirk and attempted to sign Allen Robinson. So while the team insists they have confidence in Quez Watkins as their No. 2 receiver, they seem to be very much in the market for a veteran receiver to pair with Devonta Smith. Parker would be a great option considering his size and experience, even if he inconsistent.

At this point, however, the Eagles need to do something at receiver. If Parker in indeed available, and the cost isn’t a pick in the top three rounds, the Eagles should strongly consider trying to get a trade done.
