Here is yet another report linking the Eagles to quarterback Deshaun Watson.
According to ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio, a league source says, "The Eagles are sufficiently determined to upgrade the team that they would pursue Watson, if the window opens for doing so."
On March 22nd, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle mentioned the Eagles in a bunch of teams still interested in Watson despite the 22 civil lawsuits pending against him alleging sexual misconduct.
While Watson does not face any criminal charges — at least not yet — the NFL’s own investigation into the matter could result in discipline of the quarterback prior to whether or not the lawsuits are settled.
Watson, 25, is one of the best quarterbacks in the league who is in the prime of his career but has not been happy about the direction the Houston Texans are taking and demanded to be traded.
"A huge part of the equation becomes the trade compensation that the Texans will want for Watson," Florio writes. "Whatever they could have gotten four weeks ago, they won’t get that now."
There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding Watson and his future in the NFL, but one thing seems clear—the Eagles are, at the very least, discussing the idea of bringing him to Philadelphia.
