Scott Franzke unhappy with Phillies' 'ridiculous' post-London schedule

Philadelphia Phillies radio play-by-play announcer Scott Franzke voiced his displeasure towards Major League Baseball in regards to the Phillies' schedule.

"It kind of feels like they should have an off day [on Monday]," Franzke said on 94WIP during Sunday's Phillies at Orioles radio broadcast. "I think Baseball has given them a horrible draw on this schedule. I think it's ridiculous the way they set this schedule up...because of the London series."

After heading to London for two games against the New York Mets, the Phillies were given one day off before six straight road games, traveling from Philadelphia to London to Boston to Baltimore from June 5th to June 16th.

After splitting the series in London, the Phils dropped four of their next six games at the Red Sox and at the Orioles.

The Mets, in contrast, returned home for six straight home games following their weekend in London and have gone 5-1 during that stretch against the Marlins and Padres.

"There's something to be said about being in your own space," former Eagle Hugh Douglas said on Monday's 94WIP Midday Show.

The Phils finally return home for two three-game sets beginning tonight against the Padres and Diamondbacks.
