"Rhys Hoskins blew Game 2 of the series," Angelo Cataldi said in the first hour of Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show.
The Braves had two on and two outs in the bottom of the 6th and Matt Olson hit a rather routine grounder to Hoskins. Hoskins was unable to come up with the ball, falling the ground in attempt to make the play, leading to what was ruled an RBI single for Olson and the Braves first run of the game.
Phillies manager Rob Thomson had an honest take on Hoskins mishap.
"It's a play that has to be made and it wasn't made, and it opened the flood gates," Scott Franzke said on the radio call.
"That's a play I've made before, I'll make again. Just didn't make it tonight," said Hoskins himself after the game.
In a 94WIP Morning Show Twitter poll nearing 5,000 votes, 48.7% of fans are blaming Hoskins for the Game 2 NLDS 3-0 loss to the Braves.
Compounding the defensive play for Hoskins is his offensive struggles. Hoskins was 0-4 in Game 2 and is just 1-18 in four playoff games thus far with six strikeouts. And if you go back to the regular season, Hoskins has just two hits over his last 37 at-bats.
