Kyle Schwarber has played Division Series home games at historic Wrigley Field and Fenway Park, but after experiencing Friday and Saturday’s atmosphere at Citizens Bank Park, he says one home field advantage stands out above the rest.
“No offense to any fan base because they're all amazing,” Schwarber said, via Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “But this is by far the best Division Series I've ever seen at a home field, just how electric it was. They're in tune with every single pitch in every big spot. It was just electric.”
The Philadelphia fans were widely praised all weekend for bringing the noise in two straight wins against the defending champion Braves, and the players on the field clearly responded to the boisterous noise that rained down from the stands.
Citizens Bank Park was the eighth different stadium Schwarber has played in during a Division Series, but says Philly fans were a cut above the rest.
