SAN FRANCISCO (95.7 The Game) - One of the top guards for the Golden State Warriors appears to be on his way out of San Francisco, with guard Donte DiVincenzo declining his $4.7 million player option to become an unrestricted free agent.
DiVincenzo is coming off of his first and perhaps only season with the franchise, in which he averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 72 games.
He was also a dangerous shooting threat last season, hitting 43.5 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from three point range.
After a solid bounce back season from the former first-round pick, his value is likely to have increased significantly heading into the new free agency window.
"Donte has been fantastic," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said earlier this offseason. "Donte is one of those guys who helps you in so many different ways that you can [put] him into any lineup and to me that's his true value."
Now, however, DiVincenzo could become a player that the franchise could ultimately end missing in a big way.
