It must be football season, because Baldy is back on the airwaves.
Longtime NFL analyst Brian Baldinger breaks down the game like few can, and he’ll be joining 95.7 The Game for weekly spots to discuss the 49ers and the league at large.
On Tuesday, Baldy joined “The Morning Roast” to give his impressions of the Niners’ preseason debut, a 34-7 loss when 49ers quarterbacks Trey Lance, Sam Darnold and Brandon Allen struggled to put up points.
Baldinger gave his honest assessment for Lance, who went 10-of-15 for 112 yards and a touchdown but looked indecisive at times.
“In a word, it was rusty. Very rusty,” Baldinger told hosts Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky. “There were times when he dropped back and he throws it, and you said, ‘That’s what a quarterback looks like.’ But it was few and far between. He threw two (passes) to the other team. Never saw the defender, but one ended up being a touchdown to Ross Dwelley. But it was not an impressive performance.”
