The 49ers got some no good, very bad news on Monday afternoon.

Both Jimmy Garoppolo (high-ankle sprain) and George Kittle are staring at long layoffs, per reports.

First the news on Jimmy G, who was hooked early from Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Seahawks as his ankle problem continues to linger, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

Just minutes later came the report that George Kittle, who was also exited early on Sunday, won't be back on the field anytime soon. NFL Network/NFL.com's Ian Rapoport had the scoop.

Per Schefter, the Kittle absence is expected to be eight weeks.

The following tweet helps put the club's season-long injury woes into perspective.

Up next, the 49ers, minus Jimmy and George, host the Packers on Thursday Night football from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
