Much of the optimism surrounding the 2022 Giants revolves around the starting rotation. Behind Opening Day ace Logan Webb, the Giants have a bevy of solid veteran offseason signees, including southpaws Carlos Rodón and Alex Wood and righties Anthony DeSclafani and Alex Cobb. Matthew Boyd is expected to join the rotation midseason to add even more depth.
NBC Sports Bay Area Giants reporter Alex Pavlovic joined 95.7 The Game’s “Steiny & Guru” Tuesday to discuss the starters’ strong showings in the Cactus League and more. The Giants will host the Miami Marlins Friday afternoon for Opening Day. You can hear the full interview below:
“In general, I don’t care at all about spring stats,” Pavlovic said. “I know teams don’t really either, but they do care how good you look. And these guys are putting up those stats while being really sharp. I think the five guys in the rotation came in ready and on paper they should be one of the best groups in the National League. I think they could potentially be the best rotation in the Majors with what they’ve built.”
