Heyman: 'Probably a 10 or 15 percent' chance Aaron Judge leaves Yankees

Although there is more uncertainty than ever surrounding Aaron Judge’s future in The Bronx, there seems to be growing confidence he’ll ultimately end up with the Yankees going forward.

Judge is just a couple weeks away from fielding offers from teams in free agency. He is coming off a monster, record-setting season, and should draw some substantial interest on the market.

The New York Post’s Jon Heyman wrote last week that the Yankees view the Giants as their biggest competition, as well as maybe the Dodgers and Cubs. Asked about that in his weekly appearance on “Mully and Haugh,” Heyman sounded skeptical that Judge would even leave.

“I should have capitalized the word maybe. The Cubs are threatening to spend, (but) as I’ve said on your show many, many, many times, I’ll believe it when I see it,” Heyman said. “I think the more likely scenario would be to move (Nico) Hoerner to second and go for (Carlos) Correa or (Trea) Turner. So, I doubt it.

“But I think we’re all pretty, I don’t want to say confident, but the Yankees and people in New York feel Judge is most likely to come back to the Yankees. It’s probably even 10 or 15 percent that he goes anywhere else beside the Yankees. It would not behoove him to leave, it really wouldn’t.”

Judge bet on himself by turning down the Yankees’ extension offer before the season, so clearly he is intent on seeing what’s out there for him.

Even if the end result is simply a reunion with the Yankees.
