Christian Toto, an editor of HollywoodInToto.com and the podcast Right On Hollywood joins Mark Reardon to share the new Oscar diversity rules & the controversy on the new Disney/Pixar film.
“If you disagree with certain conversations in our public lifestyle, you get in trouble, and that is wrong. It’s certainly wrong for Hollywood, it's wrong across the culture. The artists understand that this is not a great idea, they understand it should be about merit,” commented Toto.
He continued, “There’s a line between commerce and art in Hollywood, we all know that. The one person who did speak out and said these new rules make him want to vomit was an Oscar winner, Richard Dreyfuss, who has been able to say what he wants to say and seemingly not get canceled. He spoke out against it in no uncertain terms, but he is basically alone.”
