Elon Musk is officially in charge of Twitter.

The billionaire completed his acquisition of the social media platform last night and immediately took action, firing the company’s top executives following the completion pf the deal.

CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and Chief Legal Counsel Vijaya Gadde were immediately ousted from the company per CNN, and Musk acknowledged his takeover of Twitter with a tweet that simply read: “the bird is freed.”

Musk's goals for the platform will be “aimed at increasing Twitter's subscriber base and revenue.”  In his first big move, Musk told Twitter advertisers that he was buying the platform to help humanity and doesn’t want it to become a “free-for-all hellscape.”

Musk is expected to speak to Twitter employees directly Friday, according to an internal memo cited in several media outlets.
