Eric Schmitt, the state’s attorney general, won the primary against 20 other opponents, including Rep. Vicky Hartzler and former Gov. Eric Greitens.

Annie Frey, of The Annie Frey Show, attended Schmitt’s watch party Tuesday night during primary coverage.

“I’m not interested in being invited to all the D.C. cocktail parties or being the most popular person in Washington,” Schmitt said during his victory speech. “I‘m not going there to get along. I want to be your senator to push back against the wokeness and the weakness that is undermining America.”

Schmitt says children are America’s “most precious resource” and names his son, Stephen, who has special needs, his inspiration.

“I thank God every day for his life. It will never be typical, but it will always be special.”

Monday night, Donald Trump endorsed “Eric,” receiving backlash for his generic endorsement. However, both Eric Schmitt and Eric Greitens accepted the endorsement, claiming they were both Trump's only choice.
