Former President Donald Trump is hoping the 2024 Presidential election will carry him back into the White House, but he’s facing stiff competition, and not just in the general election where he would likely face incumbent President Joe Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket.
In Trump’s own party, many Republicans have already shifted their support from the former Commander-In-Chief to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, though just how many is a number Trump is apparently vigorously disputing, along with the source of said numbers.
“Why is FoxNews using Fake News CNN POLLS?” Trump asked in a post on Truth Social Thursday. “Because they are Fake, even though I am leading by a lot, but not nearly as good as other polls. Leading Biden by 9 points, leading Social Security cutting DeSanctimonious by 35 points. MAGA!”
Trump also seems to believe that DeSantis is getting more and more favorable publicity on the traditionally right-leaning cable channel.
“FoxNews is promoting Ron DeSanctus so hard and so much that there’s not much time left for Real News,” Trump has written previously.
In addition to the potentially fierce opposition for the Republican Presidential nod, Trump is also deal with legal trouble on a number of different fronts after getting indicted on 34 felony counts in New York this week and at least two other potential criminal proceedings on the horizon courtesy of Georgia and the federal Department of Justice.
