OPINION: Cox on January 6 anniversary: 'Don't be distracted by the noise'

Marc Cox looked back on the events of January 6, 2021, and the riots and attacks on the United States Capitol by a large mob of supporters of former President Donald Trump.

"I was in Washington, DC," says Cox. "It's important to put this in perspective," says Cox as he replayed his live reporting from the Capitol that morning, which aired approximately 3-hours before Trump was scheduled to speak.

"Don't let the mainstream media twist what happened there that day," says Cox, "those were patriots. And the people like Josh Hawley who stood up in the halls of Congress who challenged these electoral votes were completely within their Constitutional rights to do so. And the people who broke into the Capitol and broke the law are going to be punished for it."
