Greitens has 'got himself in a bind' says former state senator

Former Missouri State Senator John Lamping says recent revelations in the custody battle between former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens and his second ex-wife, Professor Sheena Greitens, were not a shock to his Republican opponents in the US Senate race in Missouri.

Lamping tells Marc Cox, "there's no coincidence that this was released yesterday, [at] 10 o'clock Monday morning. I think all the campaigns were made aware of this coming out. You saw a pretty well-coordinated effort."

"Welcome to the campaign season, we're four months out. Sadly, we're probably not going to talk too much about issues, but we're going to focus on very personal issues like this," says Lamping. "Obviously the former governor has got himself in a bind, and it's going to be interesting to see how the next few days go."

Eric Greitens denies his ex-wife's claims of abuse during their marriage.

The former governor of the Show-Me State resigned in 2018 after a woman testified under oath that Greitens tied her up in his basement, stripped her naked and took photos of her to use as blackmail in their extramarital affair — before forcing her to have oral sex with him. In the sworn affidavit filed in their custody battle, Sheena Greitens says that her husband told her in January 2021 that he had in fact taken the photograph of the woman. Greitens maintains that the exchange was consensual.
