Missouri is one of six states suing the Biden Administration over student loan debt forgiveness

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey was at Tuesday's Supreme court hearing on student debt and joins the Mark Reardon Show to share his unique thoughts.

“The income thresholds are ridiculous. You can make up to $250,000 a year and still qualify for Biden's bailout! That's absurd, this is a carve-out for, you know, privileged elites, not working families of Missouri. That's why it's a bad deal for Missouri,” shared Attorney General Bailey.

Later he continued, “I feel confident about where we are in the litigation like you said, standings, an issue, but for the state of Missouri that's controlled at the state level through an entity of state statute and so standing is appropriate. And we feel very strongly and made our case that Biden's action is both because it violates the separation of powers, but it's also illegal. No statute authorizes President Biden to take this action.”
