(KMOX) - Former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens is throwing his hat in the ring for a Senate seat in the Show-Me State. Greitens announced he's running to replace retiring Republican Sen. Roy Blunt in 2022.
He told Fox News, Missouri "needs a fighter" in the upper chamber.

Almost immediately after Greitens made his announcement, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani endorsed the ex-Missouri governor. Greitens responded on Twitter, saying he's honored to have the support of his friend.
No comment so far from Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri, however, former Sen. Claire McCaskill took a shot at Greitens, sharing the 2018 special investigative report into his alleged sex scandal and ethics investigation.
"If you want to know how low the Mo R party has gone, this man will be competitive for a US Senate seat in their primary. This report not suitable for children. Read it," she stated on Twitter, sharing
Greitens told Baier he did nothing wrong.
"We resigned because at the time it was what I needed to do for the people who I love the most," Greitens told Fox News. "It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do because I knew that all of these accusations were false."
