There's a chance Matthew Stafford has played his final game for the Lions.

It would be a fitting way for his tenure with the team to end -- taking a hit while trying to make a play in a loss to the Packers.

The hit, delivered by Packers DT Kenny Clark, injured Stafford's ribs and forced him out of the game late in the fourth quarter on Sunday. He went for X-rays afterward, and there was 'no definitive diagnosis' as of Monday morning, according to Ian Rapoport.

"What I know right now is that he is in an unbelievable amount of pain," Rapoport said on Good Morning Football. "No one has ruled him out of anything, but certainly there is a possibility we could see Chase Daniel down the stretch now for the Lions."

Lions interim head coach Darrell Bevell said after the game it was 'too early to tell' whether Stafford could miss time. The 5-8 Lions have three games remaining. The 32-year-old Stafford has also dealt with back injuries the past two seasons.

With a new regime taking over this offseason, Stafford and the Lions could be headed for a separation.
