
A few years ago, Dallas became an attractive hub for corporations to move their headquarters, and though that trend is starting to slow, one is certainly picking up.
More and more millennials are leaving New York and Chicago and heading south, with Dallas and Austin at the top of their lists.

A study from SmartAsset found that Dallas ranked third in the amount of millennials, defined as those between the ages of 25 and 39, moving in, based on data from 2021. Dallas had a net migration of 6,339 millennials.
Per Dallas News, Austin holds the top spot, with a net migration of about 10,500 millennials, with Denver not far behind at a net migration of 9,216 millennials.
According to the data, of the top 10 cities millennials left, three were in California: Los Angeles, San Francisco and Fresno.
New York had the most significant net loss of millennials, with 135,100 moving out of the city while only 55,400 moved into the city, totaling a net loss of almost 80,000 millennials in one year.
