With a loaded NBA slate on Tuesday, January 21, it’s the perfect opportunity to dive into some player prop bets that offer excellent value. From Josh Hart’s all-around contributions for the Knicks to Tristan Da Silva’s scoring potential for the shorthanded Magic, there’s plenty to consider for bettors looking to capitalize. Additionally, the Wizards’ Bilal Coulibaly provides an intriguing under bet as he continues to struggle offensively. Let’s break down these top picks and the stats that make them stand out.
Knicks SF Josh Hart Over 15.5 Rebounds + Assists vs. Nets (+110, FanDuel)
In two games against the Nets this season (both back in November), Hart recorded nine rebounds and nine assists on November 15 and then eight rebounds and eight assists on November 17, averaging 15.5 rebounding chances and 13.0 potential assists in those contests. On the season, Hart is averaging 9.5 boards on 16.1 rebounding chances and 5.5 assists on 9.7 potential helpers, so there’s quite a bit of upside that should be available for him in both categories. I like his triple-double prop at +1400 (Caesars) quite a bit as well.
Magic PF Tristan Da Silva Over 9.5 Points vs. Raptors (-125, DraftKings)
Back on January 1, Da Silva had the best game of his young career against this Raptors team in Toronto, shooting 9-of-13, including 5-of-7 from three, en route to a career-high 25 points over 37 minutes. With Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs, Goga Bitadze and Mo Wagner all ruled out and Gary Harris and Jett Howard, Cole Anthony and Jonathan Isaac all questionable, Orlando is going to be shorthanded once again, which should lead to heavy minutes and an elevated number of shot attempts. I like his double-double prop as well (+1700, FanDuel).
Wizards SF Bilal Coulibaly Under 19.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists vs. Lakers (-105, DraftKings)
Coulibaly has stayed under 19.5 points + rebounds + assists in 10 straight games, registering 15, 3, 18, 11, 14, 16, 19, 18, 17 and 15 in that span, averaging 8.3 points (on 33.7% shooting) with 3.4 rebounds (6.7 chances) and 2.9 assists (7.4 potential assists) in 29.6 minutes. Washington is the most inefficient team on both ends of the floor, ranking dead-last in both Offensive and Defensive Rating, so there’s no reason to assume that the young wing is going to turn things around tonight. I think this streak is going to continue and that this is a valuable option tonight.
Nets PG D’Angelo Russell Over 7.5 Assists vs. Knicks (+122, FanDuel)
With Ben Simmons out, Russell will play and avoid sitting out due to load management against the Knicks tonight. Over his last three games, he’s racked up an average of 8.0 assists on 14.3 potential dimes in just 23.8 minutes. Simmons’ absence will make him the team’s undisputed primary ball-handler and especially after generating 17 potential helpers last time out against the Thunder in just 24 minutes.
Lakers C Anthony Davis 10+ 1Q Points vs. Wizards (-110, DraftKings)
Averaging 8.2 points in 10.6 first quarter minutes per game this season, AD finds himself in the best-possible matchup in the NBA for a center tonight. The Wizards have allowed the most points per game to opposing centers and AD has surpassed this total in three of his last four starts overall. Washington has allowed an average of 13.8 points in the paint in the first quarter this season, 3rd-most in the Association, so it’s easy to like Davis’ outlook.
