My Best Bets: Jets +4 | Jets ML

San Francisco has been the darling of the NFC for years now, and they had yet another great season in 2023 last year, reaching the Super Bowl for the second time in three years. The 49ers almost had Kansas City defeated, but allowed a late field goal that tied the game at 19 and sent it to overtime. They managed to take a 22-19 lead in OT, but failed to understand that you don’t want to settle for those against Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs scored the game-winning TD to win 25-22. San Francisco finished 14-6 with a 9-11 ATS mark.

The Jets season was over before it even began in 2023 when QB Aaron Rodgers went down almost immediately with a season-ending injury on their first offensive drive. Seeing as how that happened on a Monday Night game, it is a bit funny they will begin their season with Rodgers on Monday Night Football yet again. The Jets went 7-10 with a 6-10-1 ATS mark with a whole host of QBs at the helm, as the team desperately tried to find the answer at the position.

There has been a lot of line movement on this game. San Fran opened as a -6 favorite, and dipped to 5.5 pretty quick. That number has done nothing but move toward New York, as it now sits at 3.5/4 in every market. This is likely due to the uncertainty around Brandon Aiyuk’s trade request and Christian McCaffery being listed as questionable.

Still, I would expect the sportsbooks to be needing New York here, as the public absolutely loves to bet the 49ers. I would expect the parlay liability to be quite large as well. Give me the Jets getting over a field goal, and won’t be shocked if they win outright.
