The Buffalo Bills have gotten off to one of their best starts ever, sitting at 7-2 through their first nine games, and an overwhelming favorite to win the AFC East. In fact, the Bills are so likely to win their division, they are a whopping -10000 at BetMGM right now to do so. I, for one, am proud to say I took the Bills at 16/1 before the season to win the Super Bowl. It seemed like everyone was off of them this season after several failed attempts to reach the big game, and when everyone else jumps ship, I jump on.

As we have always known, the play of Bills quarterback Josh Allen determines their season. Last year, he threw 18 interceptions, the most he has ever thrown in a single season. You can’t expect to win a Super Bowl when you are turning the ball over as much as he was.

Perhaps it was motivation for Allen to play better football, but whatever the reason is, he is having the best season of his career to this point. He’s thrown for over 2,000 yards, and is completing 64.1% of his passes, but his ability to limit turnovers is what is really making this season stick out for the All-Pro signal-caller.

Allen has thrown 17 touchdowns to just two interceptions in nine games. That is, by far, the fewest picks he has thrown to this point in a season. He owns a 105.8 passer rating to this point, which trails only his 2020 coming out party season, when he threw for 37 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions with a 107.2 rating.

His play has now positioned him as the co-favorite at BetMGM to win NFL MVP, tied with Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. Jackson, who has already won the award twice including last season, could suffer from recency bias when it comes to voting for the award. This could put Allen just ahead of him, as I think people generally don’t want repeat winners.

In Week 10, the Bills will travel to Indianapolis to take on the Indianapolis Colts. While Indy is not a team that you would normally worry about right now, as they own a 4-5 record, Buffalo cannot take them lightly. The Bills were favored by six points against the Dolphins last week, and while they did win the game, they failed to cover the spread in a very close contest.

The Bills are just a -4 favorite right now on the road. They are getting 91% of the handle at DraftKings Sportsbook as we stand, which means that Vegas is going to be rooting for the Colts in a huge way. Take it from me, you never want to have that much money on your team. Last week, the Bills had a similar amount of cash on them against the Dolphins, and they came very close to losing that game at home.

Allen himself should have an easier matchup, as the Colts defense has been very vulnerable so far. However, the Bills would be smart to not underestimate this team. Indianapolis can certainly win this game.
