NFL Player Prop Picks for Lions at 49ers MNF Week 17

Will Brock Purdy struggle in the air? How about Detroit's running game? Breaking down the best player props for Monday Night Football.

Monday Night Football in Week 17 brings an exciting matchup between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers. With playoff seeding implications in the air for the Lions, this game also offers intriguing opportunities in the player prop market. With a 112-67 record (62.57%, +29.94 units) on NFL player props this season, I’ve highlighted two standout picks for this clash. Will Jahmyr Gibbs continue his dominance on the ground? Can Brock Purdy overcome a stingy Lions defense in front of the home crowd? Let’s dive into the numbers.

Lions RB Craig Reynolds Anytime Touchdown (+500, FanDuel)

With David Montgomery out for the year, Reynolds will be the RB2 behind Jahmyr Gibbs tonight and since this game doesn’t mean anything for the Lions, I expect Reynolds to get the majority of the carries out of Detroit’s backfield after Gibbs plays the first couple of series. While nothing has been said or released about this game plan, the Lions are a legitimate Super Bowl contender and can’t afford another injury to one of their star players, thus giving Reynolds a clear opportunity to thrive against a defense that has allowed the 2nd-most rushing touchdowns to running backs this season. Last week, he took four carries for 18 yards and caught a pass for five yards, but I can see him getting featured in this matchup with a meaningful snap count.

Lions RB Sione Vaki Anytime Touchdown (+2200, FanDuel)

Like the pick above, I’m going to roll with the mindset that Dan Campbell and his staff will rest key starters as this game progresses. Last week, he caught two passes for 20 yards and should factor in again along with Reynolds. If he or Reynolds finds the end zone behind this dominant offensive line, I’ll be a happy man.

Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs Under 84.5 Rushing Yards (-112, BetRivers)

Same reasons as above. Don’t think we will see a ton of Gibbs tonight, so as long as he doesn’t rip off a gigantic run, we should be good!
