If you’re looking to spice up your Thursday Night Football experience, why not take a shot on a longshot same game parlay? With the Rams taking on the Vikings in Week 8, we've crafted a high-upside parlay that combines several key plays, including the Rams moneyline, Kyren Williams to score the first touchdown, and Aaron Jones to find the endzone. Priced at +1800 at BetMGM, this bet may be a longshot, but it’s packed with value and excitement. Let’s break down why this parlay could be worth a small play and look at a bonus pick as well!
LA Rams ML + Kyren Williams First TD + Aaron Jones Anytime TD (+1800)
If you want to take a shot on an 18/1 same game parlay for Thursday Night Football to sweat out, I think you could do a lot worse than the one above. Keep in mind, these SGP’s are very volatile and I wouldn’t recommend putting more than a quarter unit on them at these kinds of odds. However, they are always very fun to place and if they win, very fun to celebrate. Just always keep your expectations in check.
First off, I absolutely love the Rams in this game. Los Angeles is getting just 16% of the money in this game, with the 5-1 Vikings being an overwhelming public favorite on the road, and yet this line has moved down from +3.5 to +2.5 at most books. This is despite receiving a very minimal amount of money wagered on them compared to Minnesota. This says that there is some serious respected money coming in on the Rams, and I think they are probably going to win this game outright.
For the second leg, I always like to correlate who I think is going to win the game with the first TD scorer of the game. I like the Rams, and RB Kyren Williams is the overwhelming most likely guy to score for them in this game. He’s -200 for an anytime TD and has a very high usage rate. WR Cooper Kupp will be back from injury, but I would expect his workload to be at least somewhat limited compared to usual.
Lastly, I like Aaron Jones to score for Minnesota at some point in the game. He’s scored in three of the Vikings six games, so basically every other game, and gets involved in both the ground and the passing attack for the Vikings. The Rams defense has been poor against both the pass and the run, and I think Jones has a great chance to find the endzone at some point in the game one way or the other.
Insane Parlay: LA Rams ML + Williams First TD + Jones ATTD + Jones 80+ Rushing + Over 49 (+7500)
Is this hitting? Probably not, it has a 75/1 chance to do so, but I also like to just throw some beer money on stuff like this for the thrill of it. I already talked about three of these props, but the other two just kind of support them. I think Jones could have a great night on the ground against this Rams soft defense, and while I normally would take an under in almost every prime time game, this one sets up for a higher scoring contest. The Vikings defense has been good over the first five games of the season, but they got ripped by the Lions for the most part, and perhaps their lack of overall talent is going to get exposed.
