Goedert's Resurgence: Eagles' Tight End Takes Flight Post-Injury

With insane usage stats and a favorable matchup, Dallas Goedert is emerging as a key weapon for the Eagles heading into the Super Bowl.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will go head to head in less than a week for a Super Bowl title, and you can bet that this game is going to have millions and millions of dollars wagered on it. There are well over 100 different markets available to bet on for this game, but perhaps no market has grown more in recent years than player props. People will be wagering on Patrick Mahomes and Saquon Barkley props like there is no tomorrow, but there is one player that may go under the radar a bit.

According to Adam Levitan of Establish The Run, Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert has been seeing more and more action as the weeks have gone on in this Philadelphia offense.

If you don’t know, TPRR is short for “Targets per route run,” which tells you how often a player is targeted in an offense. Since returning from his injury, Goedert has been targeted on 29% of all his snaps in which he runs a route, which is actually a pretty insane number. He’s essentially QB Jalen Hurts’ security blanket, and it has been very clear that Goedert is playing a huge part of this Eagles passing attack.

I have talked extensively about how much I love Goedert in this game, and Levitan has just added to that with his stats. Goedert has also had at least four receptions in nine straight playoff games coming into this one, and also has an excellent matchup against Kansas City. The Chiefs ranked inside the bottom five in targets, receptions, and yards allowed to tight ends this season. They have had a serious issue defending them, and with the usage for Goedert through the roof right now, he could have a massive day.

Right now at BetMGM, you can get Goedert to record 60+ receiving yards at +120 odds, which I think is some great value considering the matchup. You can also get him to record over 4.5 receptions for -145, which is juiced to the moon to be sure, but also pretty likely to hit. You can take him to score a touchdown at +333 odds as well, so there are a bunch of ways for you to incorporate Goedert this weekend.

I personally have already bet his receptions prop, and even laddered it to 7+ receptions. I know our friend Joe Ostrowski from our new show “Bet Sweats” gave out Goedert to score a touchdown this morning. Many experts look at him as a potential sleeper to have a huge game here, and I just found Levitan’s post to be even more evidence that he was a wise player to invest in.

We’ll see if he actually does pay out, but I feel comfortable knowing that this was a well informed wager that I can be confident in.
