Dierks Bentley was recently honored by Nashville's Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

The country superstar was the very first person to be honored with a star on the Vanderbilt Children's Walk of Champions.

The Vanderbilt University website states that the new addition was "designed to honor lifelong advocates for Children's Hospital within the entertainment industry."

According to CMT, Bentley "has raised approximately $4 million for the hospital through his Miles & Music for Kids motorcycle ride and benefit concert" throughout the years.

The 1997 Vanderbilt University graduate shined the light on the staff and patients while accepting his award in front of a crowd. Bentley thanked the "big team of all-stars" surrounding him prior to vising patients at the hospital with his daughter.
