(WEEI) -- The busiest transaction day in the NFL is here as all teams need to get to 53 players by 4 p.m.

New England was very active on Friday making a few cuts, as well as two trades, but it has to make 20 or so more cuts before the deadline. It has some intriguing decisions to make with certain positions, which will play out over the course of the day.

This page will be updated throughout the day with all the latest moves leading up to the official release of the roster from the team (whenever that may be).

Follow along.

8:45 a.m. - According to multiple reports, wide receiver Braxton Berrios has been let go. The second-year player missed all of last year after going on injured reserve, but just couldn't do anything this summer to stand out.

10:55 a.m. - According to reports, New England has cut TE Eric Saubert, DL Ufomba Kamalu and TE Stephen Anderson. Saubert was a late addition to the unsettled tight end competition, apparently neither he nor the returning practice squader Anderson was able to do enough to stick around despite the wide open nature of the depth chart at the position.

11:20 a.m. - Linebacker Calvin Munson has been released, per source. He was impressive this summer and the team appears to like him a lot. If he goes unclaimed, returning to the practice squad is very possible.

11:45 a.m. - Wide receiver Gunner Olszewski has been released, according to a source. He was one of the feel-good stories of training camp going from a D-II cornerback to NFL wide receiver. If he clears waivers there's a good chance he returns to the practice squad.

12:30 p.m. - According to NESN's Doug Kyed, offensive tackle Dan Skipper has been released. With all the trades made for linemen this week, there just wasn't room on the roster for him anymore.

12:35 p.m.- Per multiple reports, defensive lineman Nick Thurman has been cut. That position is farily deep and it was an uphill battle from the start of the summer for him to make the team.

1:30 p.m. - Multiple reports have linebacker Scooby Wright being released. He was signed this past week, so he was a long-shot to make the team. He could be a perfect practice squad candidate, though.

1:50 p.m. - According to Sirius XM's Adam Caplan, Brian Hoyer has been released. This means Jarrett Stidham will be Tom Brady's lone backup. Given how Stidham performed in the preseason, it's not much of a surprise as well as how talented the rest of the roster is.

2:35 p.m. - Linebacker Terez Hall has been released, according to The Athletic. The undrafted rookie didn't have much of a shot given how deep the Patriots are at the position.

4:12 p.m. - Keion Crossen reportedly has been traded to the Texans.

4:15 p.m. - Gunner Olszewski has been informed he's now making the roster. He was told he wasn't late in the morning, but following the Crossen deal, a spot opened up and that went to the undrafted rookie.

4:50 p.m. - According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, running back Nick Brossette has been released. He led the NFL in rushing this preseason, but with how talented the backfield is there just wasn't a spot.

5:05 p.m. - Demaryius Thomas has been released, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. This is a big surprise following his performance Thursday night and him looking healthy following Achilles injury suffered last December. Thomas could potentially return at some point, even as soon as Sunday. The team could place N'Keal Harry or another injured player on IR then so they are eligible to return during the year. Another option is after Week 1 when his contract isn't fully guaranteed.

5:20 p.m. - David Andrews and Derek Rivers have been placed on IR, thus ending their seasons

6:50 p.m. - The Patriots are showing interest in free agent running LeSean McCoy.

7:20 p.m. - Here is the official initial 53-man roster.
