The New York National Guard is set to continue an Army training mission that has been underway since 2015, first in Ukraine but now displaced to Germany.

The Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine has trained Ukrainian soldiers previously at the Combat Training Center-Yavoriv located outside of Lviv. For years, conventional and special operations soldiers from the United States have cycled through the training center to help improve the Ukrainian military, an effort that has clearly paid off considering the fierce resistance they have shown against Russia's invasion.

The New York National Guard previously deployed for the same mission in 2017.
