Several attempts have been made to honor WWII era Rangers with a Congressional Gold Medal, and now they need your help in contacting members of Congress to make it happen.
Sen. Joni Ernst from Iowa has introduced a bill S.1872 for this award, and Rep. Jason Crow from Colorado has introduced the companion bill H.R.3577 in the house. Sen. Ernst's bill passed unanimously in a bi-partisan effort with Sen. Tammy Duckworth.

“As part of America’s Greatest Generation, our World War II Army Rangers risked their lives to protect our nation and freedom everywhere, and their sacrifices deserve to be recognized,” Sen. Ernst said in a press release. “I’m grateful to my colleagues on both sides of the aisle for their commitment to honoring these courageous Army Rangers with a Congressional Gold Medal, bringing this important effort one step closer to becoming law.”
Supporters of the Congressional Gold Medal for WWII Rangers are now seeking additional cosponsors for Rep. Crow's bill.
19 men remain of the some 7,000 who volunteered to serve in Ranger units during World War II.
