75 years ago, in the Spring and Summer of 1945, America found itself nearing the end of a battle fought around the world at a cost of over 400,000 American lives.
WWII defined an entire generation that would come to be known as "The Greatest Generation", and the echos of their heroic deeds on the battlefield and homefront are heard to this day. Now, as we approach, the 75th anniversary of VE Day, Victory over Europe, EZ 1430 has joined with Humana to for a salute to this remarkable time in our histoy by honoring those that served with our "Patriot of the Day"
Join us each weekday at 7:45a and 3:45p as we share the story of a Colorado veteran of WWII who gave their life defending freedom aroud the world, or served and returned home to build a new America for future generations.
The last of our WWII generation is quickly coming to the end of their journey, time doing what the enemy couldn't, taking them from us. EZ 1430 is proud to have been the one station in Denver dedicated to giving their story a voice as we thank them every week day and remember their war 75 years ago.
