An H-E-B in Burleson just gave shoppers a Christmas gift they will surely remember for years to come.

A computer glitch shut down the store’s registers this week and brought everything to a standstill.

Nobody could check out and purchase ANYTHING.

Rather than have everyone leave or wait in the store for the glitch to be remedied, a store manager announced to everyone in line that they would be getting their groceries for free.

The manager can be heard saying in the video, “We love having you as our customers, thank you for waiting with us.

"Unfortunately, the computers are not coming back up right now, so today everything that you have we are going to bag you up and we hope that every one of you has a very merry Christmas and continue to shop with us."

A customer told WFAA this act was a "Godsend" as she had been waiting in line for two hours with a cart full of groceries to feed her kids and grandkids over the holidays.

In a statement, H-E-B said it is committed to serving its customers year-round, especially during the holidays:

"During this busy holiday season when our registers were temporarily down at one of our stores, we gave all those with full baskets their groceries for free.  The customer experience is at the heart of what we do!"
