It's the news a lot of people have been waiting for: Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim will reopen in late April.
The Hollywood Reporter says CEO Bob Chapek made the announcement Tuesday morning at a shareholder meeting.
Chapek also said about 10,000 furloughed park employees would return.
Disneyland, like other theme parks in the state, shut down last year amid the coronavirus pandemic. Part of Disneyland is being used as a mass vaccination site.
Just last week, California officials announced that theme parks and outdoor ballparks could reopen beginning April 1 as long as the county they are in rises to the red tier or better.
Anaheim is located in Orange County, which is currently in the purple tier. If the county is able to drop its adjusted case rate from 7.6 for every 100,000 residents to below 7, it may be moved into the red tier.
Meanwhile, later on this month, A Touch of Disney will open outdoors at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim.
