A man died and a woman remains critically injured after their minivan crashed into a big rig on I-80 in Vacaville Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol told multiple outlets.

The incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on the freeway in the westbound direction near Alamo Drive. A Dixon man, driving a Toyota Sienna along with a female passenger from Fairfield, changed lanes and collided with the back of a big-rig.
The collision caused the vehicle to roll several times and ejected both people inside. They were taken to a local hospital with major injuries. The driver died while the Fairfield woman remains in critical condition.
No other information was available, including whether distracted driving, drugs or alcohol played a role in the deadly crash or details about the driver of the truck.
