The rain is forecast to be very light and is projected to hit Northern California all the way up to the Oregon border and will possibly fall as far south as Modesto, the National Weather Service told KCBS Radio.

The Bay Area could get around 0.10 inches of rain or less from Saturday to Sunday, the National Weather Service said in a tweet.

According to the National Weather Service, late-season weather is not too out of the ordinary in late May or early June, especially with a relatively dry May. The weather change is prompted by a storm off the coast of British Columbia that will weaken the high pressure and allow weak fronts to push into Northern California, SFGATE reported.

The North Bay has the highest chance of rain in the region with an expected 50% chance of precipitation.

However, San Francisco, the East Bay and the South Bay only have a 20% chance of rain.
