The kidnapping of a 15-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon in Santa Rosa was actually a prank, according to a statement issued by the Santa Rosa Police Department Thursday afternoon.
The teenager, Georgiana Bambaloi from Vallejo, had an Amber Alert issued for her in the early hours of Thursday morning following the reported abduction.

At approximately 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday the teenager was snatched from the 2500 block of Guerneville Road, with the appearance of it being against her will, by a male suspect in an orange shirt and forced into a dark grey vehicle which then fled eastbound on Guerneville Road.
But authorities noted some inconsistencies. Particularly that the incident wasn't reported until more than two hours later, by a person who wasn't even in the county at the time.
After the teenager was returned home safely Thursday morning around 10 a.m., police were able to get the story of what happened from her, that it was "a poorly planned, decided prank," according to a spokesperson for the Santa Rosa Police Department.
One of the people involved was identified as 20-year-old Ionita Cimino, but investigators have not been able to identify anyone else. It's unknown if or how she knew the men.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
