An Asian woman is recovering after she was dragged by and then thrown from a moving car in San Francisco’s Polk Gulch neighborhood.
San Francisco Police said the strong-arm robbery happened at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Polk St. and Bush St. The woman, 33, told officers she was approached by three suspects who attacked her from behind and grabbed her purse. It contained cash, her mobile phone and wallet.
When she and a friend tried to take the purse back, they were reportedly punched and kicked.
According to KPIX-5, the victim refused to let go of her purse, even after the suspects got into a four-door sedan and tried to drive off. A man living nearby caught that part of the incident on video, showing the woman hanging on to the purse at the driver’s side window while the suspects tried to get away.
As the vehicle sped off, she was thrown to the ground.
The victim was taken to a local hospital but her injuries were non-life-threatening. The station reported the suspects are described as two young Black males and one Black female, all ranging in age from 18 to 25.
The incident is under investigation.
