BART made some changes to their schedule today to accommodate electrical repairs.
Rapid train service lines near the Lafayette Station are single-tracking today, as crews repair electrical lines and a substation in the area.
Riders planning to take the Antioch-SFO line should prepare for delays of 15-20 minutes.
"This 50-year-old electrical infrastructure has exceeded the end of its design life and must be replaced," BART explained, calling these repairs "critical for maintaining train service."
BART already replaced traction power cables at different locations in June and July, and will continue to do so in August, the transportation line reported.
The next repair is scheduled for Aug. 1.
BART also reported that crews will be working some nights to get the electrical job done.
