California is back in a high pressure pattern. "We are going to see high pressure building in over central California and the Bay Area over the next few days," said National Weather Service meteorologist Roger Goss. "That high pressure, what it basically does, unfortunately, is it can make air quality a little bit worse as the winds really aren't mixing up the atmosphere and we have very calm winds at the surface."

This pressure system will be with us through Thursday — which will be the warmest day of the week.

Air quality will be moderate, but is only expected to majorly impact "those most vulnerable to any kind of pollutants in the air," Goss explained. Overall, most of the general population should not feel the effects.

On-shore winds are forecast to pick up again on Friday when temperatures will drop slightly and air clears out.
