Is the Bay Area in for another few sweltering days at the end of this week?
It's a hard question to answer this many days out.
"Yeah, it does look like it should be a short-lived event," Roger Goss, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, told KCBS Radio.
"Maybe another Sunday into Monday type of scenario," he continued. "But overall, it definitely looks like the interior is going to warm up as we head into the upcoming weekend. How much of that heat makes it to the coast is the big question, and we'll continue to monitor closely."
Goss said this weekend's heat wave looks like it will be focused on the Pacific Northwest, as opposed to the southwest.
That should be helpful when it comes to the state having all of the energy it needs to keep the lights on.
Last week, California officials issued Flex Alerts on Thursday and Friday, asking residents to conserve energy and lessen the load on the state's power grid amid rapidly rising temperatures.
More good news? Weather experts don't expect any high winds, which could lead to fire danger.
"Right now, we're not too concerned about that," Goss said. "But we're going to watch it very closely."
