In South San Francisco, a Valero gas station is closed after rain and intense winds blew the canopy over, crushing two gas pumps.
"If you look at the gas pump, everything's secure, there's no real cracks on the inside, it came up a little bit. So those two pumps will have to be replaced, but it's not a danger for the community or anything," Mike Murray, an employee with Boyett Petroleum which provides gas to the station, told KCBS Radio.

Murray said the automatic shutoff valve worked as it was supposed to, but it may take two or three months for the gas station to be reopened. The station is located in the area of King Drive and Callan Boulevard.

In the North Bay, a toddler was killed Wednesday night when a tree fell into the living room of a house. Downed trees are common amid storm conditions as the ground becomes saturated with water, loosening tree roots.
A massive tree fell in El Cerrito on the Berkeley Country Club Wednesday night, crushing a fence, while in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, a tree fell blocking the 25th Ave and Lincoln Ave entrance.

Santa Clara County has issued evacuation warnings to community members residing in the watershed areas of the Uvas Reservoir and Pacheco Pass River Basin below due to the weather conditions and risks to the general public and property.
Down south, Santa Cruz County suffered severe damage overnight along the coastline, including on the piers in Capitola and Seacliff. "High tide and large surf is a dangerous combination," county officials warned in a tweet, "avoid the coast."

High winds are causing some waves to reach 30 to 50 feet in Santa Cruz County and the Bay Area. "Due to enormous waves and high tides, the coast is extraordinarily dangerous today," county officials wrote.
The storm hit the Capitola Wharf hard, destroying multiple properties. It will take a while for the area to recover from water and wind damage.
