The beer, named Slava Ukraini, is a pale European Lager created by Fieldwork Brewing Co., located at 1160 Sixth St., and is available for purchase now.

"We are really devastated by what's going on over in Ukraine and wanted to do something to help," Matthew Matthew Porcelli, Fieldwork Brewing operation manager, told KCBS Radio.

The beer is brewed with Old World Pilsner malt, Lubelski hops from Poland and uses central European Lager yeast. "This Lager comes out insanely dry, crisp, refreshing and effervescent with a mellow grainy character and light grassy and floral hop aromas," the company described in an Instagram post.

Slava Ukraini is much lighter than the craft beers many Bay Area locals have become accustomed to. "It's going to drink a little bit more like a traditional 'beer beer,' as I like to say," Porcelli explained.

Fieldwork Brewing Co. has donated $10,000 to the World Central Kitchen, which has served food to over two million Ukrainian refugees and counting.

The Ukrainian-style beer can also be found at other Fieldwork Taproom locations in Corte Madera, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Mateo and San Ramon.
