The Caldor Fire continued to rage through Wednesday night, growing to more than 210,000 acres, according to CAL FIRE's latest numbers.
As of Thursday morning, the fire is 25% contained, has demolished 622 single residences and 12 commercial properties.

The fire's 210,000 acres equals 328 square miles.
For context, the city of San Francisco is about 47 square miles, which means the Caldor Fire is now nearly seven times the size of San Francisco.
An estimated 32,387 structures are threatened by the blaze. Evacuations are still in place in the majority of the area, leaving some residences with difficult decisions to make. One woman was forced to leave behind four chickens, with only a sprinkler set up on her roof to create a wet border of defense around her house.
According to an update by CAL FIRE, calmer winds and the return of moderate humidity to some areas of the fire reduced activity overnight. But various spotting and fire spread continued along the northern edge of the fire.
Firefighters are continuing their efforts into Thursday.
Damage inspection is in progress with approximately 60% of structures inspected to date.
