The fire first prompted a two-alarm response, but was quickly upgraded to a four-alarm as Oakland firefighters requested help from CAL FIRE, Alameda County and East Bay Regional Park District crews.
The blaze was declared under control as of 12:40 a.m. after burning a total of 2.5 acres. It did not require any evacuations, no structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
