The California Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting on I-880 in San Jose on Monday afternoon that left a driver injured.

The incident happened at about 2:30 p.m at the Tasman Dr. ramp near the Montague Expressway and Milpitas border, officials told KCBS Radio. The driver, who was shot in the arm, was able to make his way to the shoulder and stop before first responders arrived.

He was taken to Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in the same vehicle was reportedly unharmed.

Authorities said the suspect was thought to be in a black sedan, but they don't have the make, model or license plate number at this time. Some ramps remain closed as the investigation continues late Monday.
