San Francisco Police have recovered two semi-automatic ghost guns, $45,000 in cash and a stunning 30 pounds of drugs in a narcotics operation designed to nab drugs earmarked for the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood.

Five men were also arrested, ranging in age from 23 to 45.

They’ve been booked at the Santa Rita Jail on drug-related charges.

The items, along with a so-called "kilo press," were seized during the execution of three search warrants in Oakland during an ongoing investigation, police said on Tuesday. The warrants were served at three locations in the 1700 block of 28th Ave., the 2900 block of 35th Ave. and the 9800 block of MacArthur Blvd. last Thursday.

Of the drugs recovered, more than half – almost 16 pounds – was fentanyl.

At one of the locations, there was so much unpackaged fentanyl that the Oakland Fire Department had to be called in and render the scene safe.

"The amount of fentanyl seized in this single operation is enough lethal overdoses to wipe out San Francisco's population four times over," San Francisco Police Chief Police Bill Scott said in a news release.

The guns seized by officers were unregistered, un-serialized firearms.

"Fentanyl remains the primary chemical culprit in the record-shattering number of fatal overdoses plaguing our city, and the recovery of semi-automatic ghost guns along with this haul of deadly drugs most likely intended for the Tenderloin is ominous," Scott added. "SFPD's Narcotics Detail and patrol officers have done heroic work in this operation and on the street every day to seize these deadly drugs and bring these increasingly dangerous drug dealers to justice."

It remains an "active investigation," police said.
