After closing its ridgeline locations Wednesday due to high winds, The East Bay Regional Park District announced that the parks reopened at 8 a.m. Thursday.

The district previously said the parks would be closed until Friday morning, due to "safety concerns and cleanup needs."

The parks that have now reopened are: Anthony Chabot Regional Park, Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve, Huckleberry Regional Preserve, Lake Chabot Regional Park, Sibley Regional Preserve, Leona Canyon Open Space Regional Preserve, Reinhart Redwood Regional Park, Roberts Recreation Area, Tilden Regional Park and Wildcat Canyon Regional Park.

District officials said high winds can cause safety hazards such as falling trees and branches.
