Farrah Abraham, a social media influencer and former reality TV star best known for her appearances on MTV’s "Teen Mom," is the latest woman to accuse former Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli of sexual assault.
Foppoli has faced several accusations of sexual assault and one alleged rape, which brought a storm of criticism and a recall campaign.
He stepped down from his position Friday after a new allegation emerged from a woman in Palm Beach, Florida, saying he did not want the case to bring “undue national attention” to the town.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the woman in question is Abraham, who says Foppoli assaulted her when they were both visiting the town in March 2021.
She reported the alleged assault to local police, who are investigating.
Her attorney, Spencer Kuvin, said she sustained injuries during the assault.
Foppoli has vehemently denied any claims of assault and said his encounter with Abraham was consensual. In his statement of resignation, he said he had "no doubt" that she was trying to leverage the media coverage of the allegations to her advantage.
However, Abraham filed her police report on Apr. 2, six days before the paper first published its story on the allegations.
Kuvin told KCBS Radio that Abraham feels solidarity with the eight other women who have come forward.
"There are people out there that like Ms. Abraham and people out there that don’t like her, so the goal is to heal from what’s happened to her and hopefully move forward. And right now her focus is on hopefully getting justice."
Kuvin previously represented nine victims of Jeffrey Epstein and said now that the investigations into Foppoli span multiple states, the legal states could be raised.
"I liken this to the Epstein matter where there were women that were traveling between states and coerced to go to different locations for illegal activities or sexual acts that had been perpetrated on them. In those scenarios when someone is traveling between states there is the possibility of a federal prosecution as well."
