Surveillance video has been released of the still at-large suspect who allegedly assaulted a participant at a pro recall rally in San Rafael earlier this week.

The incident occurred at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday during a demonstration to support the recall effort against Gov. Gavin Newsom at the Coleman pedestrian crossway over the U.S. Highway 101 overpass. A man allegedly began cutting down the rally's banners with a knife and was confronted by one of the protestors. The two exchanged shoves, before the suspect punched the victim several times and knocked him to the ground, causing him to suffer a skull fracture and broken jaw, according to KGO.
While surveillance footage released by investigators on Thursday did not show the altercation, it did catch the suspect arriving and leaving the scene.
The suspect can be seen driving a 2001 to 2011 black Ford Ranger pick-up truck with an extended cab and parking at Coleman Elementary School, which is right next to the highway. He exited the pickup, put on a light green t-shirt and headed in the direction of the overpass. Four minutes later he is observed rushing back to his truck and leaving the parking lot northbound on Belle Ave.
Investigators said they hope the footage will help someone from the public identify the suspect.
"The suspect is described as a 25 to 35-year-old white male adult, 5 foot 11-inches to 6 foot tall, 180 to 190 pounds, long (past the shoulders) wavy red/blond hair, wearing a light-colored green shirt, blue jeans, and blue baseball hat," officials said.
The suspect faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and assault resulting in great bodily injury.
