83-year-old Wendell Henry has been weathering the storm without a home. Henry sleeps in a 1972 Volkswagen van in a South Berkeley parking lot. He told KCBS Radio it feels like it's been raining for more than a month.

Amid the downpour, a friend let Henry park in a garage the other day and another gave him a parka and waterproof pants, which quickly got soaked. "Personally, it is very cold, you know what I mean, because I'm more outside than not," he said.

Henry gets by on social security and odd jobs, including a regular gig cleaning up after a weekly farmer's market. He explained he's mostly content living outside, but days like this make him wonder how long it will last.

"I'm not getting any younger," he said.
